A Simple Weekly Yoga Plan for Flexibility
This seven-day example mixes short yoga sessions, stretching, breathing and lighter days. The plan is designed around consistency rather than intensity.

A weekly schedule
A weekly plan does not require a demanding session every day. Alternate short practice with light movement or rest so the schedule remains practical.
The positions below are simple examples. Use a smaller range, additional support or a shorter duration whenever that better matches your current mobility.
Monday: gentle mobility
Begin with seated or standing shoulder rolls, a comfortable side stretch and a supported hip hinge. Finish with slow breathing. Keep the session around ten minutes.
Tuesday: short flexibility practice
Use a supported forward fold, a gentle calf stretch and a simple seated twist. Move into each position slowly and avoid bouncing.
Wednesday: light movement or rest
Take an easy walk, do a few relaxed mobility movements or simply use this day as rest. The lighter day reduces the amount of planned exercise between structured sessions.
Thursday: lower-body stretching
Focus on calves, the back of the legs and gentle hip movement. A chair can provide support for balance.
Friday: balance and breathing
Try a supported single-leg stance near a wall, followed by a comfortable standing reach and several minutes of relaxed breathing.
Saturday: longer gentle yoga
Combine a few familiar positions from earlier in the week into a 15- to 20-minute sequence. Keep transitions slow and leave enough time to settle into each movement.
Sunday: rest or easy walk
Finish the week with a lighter day. An easy walk or a few minutes of stretching can be used on this lighter day.
Adjust the weekly plan to your schedule
A seven-day plan works best when it reflects the rest of your schedule. If Tuesday is usually busy, keep that session especially short. If Saturday gives you more time, use that day for the longer sequence. The exact day labels are flexible. What matters is using a schedule that you can repeat.
You can also repeat the same small set of movements for several weeks. Repeating the same movements makes the weekly plan easier to follow and review. There is no need to change the poses every week.
On days when a full session does not fit, use breathing, a short walk or a few supported stretches instead. The amount of activity can vary from day to day. Keep lighter options available when a full session does not fit the schedule.
Example routine
Reviewing the routine after a few weeks
After several weeks, look at whether the routine still feels easy to fit into your day. Review which parts you remember without prompting, which parts you tend to skip, and whether the timing still works with your schedule. If a step regularly feels inconvenient, simplify it rather than abandoning the whole routine.
Progress does not have to mean adding more time. You might keep the same duration while moving with better control, preparing meals more consistently, or using lighter days more deliberately. Keep adjustments small so the routine remains manageable.
Keep the routine comfortable
Use a pace that lets you breathe normally and stay in control of each movement. If something feels unsuitable for your current ability, shorten the range, reduce the duration or choose a simpler alternative.
